GPS Pathfinder Office Software: Version 5.20 Now Available
Version 5.20 of the Trimble® GPS Pathfinder® Office software is now available. Key updates include:

  • Updates to the Data Dictionary Editor, improving the display of the features list, the use of graphical picklists, importing from and exporting to ASCII data dictionaries, and importing from Microsoft® Access® databases.
  • - It is now possible to print out and export to ASCII data dictionaries for Trimble TerraSync™ software version 5.00 and later. Print Preview is also supported.
  • - ASCII import has been enhanced with the ability to type or paste menu options into a form, which significantly speeds up creation of menus with many options, in particular when importing menus from a database.
  • - ASCII import now correctly handles the character length of values depending on the version of the data dictionary. Values are no longer truncated to 20 characters in data dictionaries for TerraSync software version 5.00 and later.
  • - Importing of data dictionaries from MDB (Microsoft Access) files now correctly handles the number of menu items and their length.
  • Updates to TerraSync Studio, and to the Configuration Manager to support the new version of the TerraSync software, including the new Trimble QuickPoint™ data collection mode.
  • Support for Web Map Service (WMS) 1.1.1 and 1.3.0 making it possible to use a wider selection of map providers.
  • New options in the Data menu making feature editing faster and simpler.
  • The ability to select/deselect all backgrounds in the Load Background Files window.
  • New coordinate systems for Portugal and Australia.

GPS Pathfinder Office Software: Esri File Geodatabase Support in the Import and Export Utilities

An update to Trimble GPS Pathfinder Office® version 5.20 has been released featuring new Esri File Geodatabase formats in the Export and Import Utilities. Implementation of the File Geodatabase interface in the GPS Pathfinder Office software is an important product enhancement that makes it easier for Esri product users to take advantage of the functionality provided in Trimble GPS Pathfinder Office and TerraSync software.

The Esri File Geodatabase format has been added to the Export and Import utilities in GPS Pathfinder Office software. A File Geodatabase is a collection of various types of GIS datasets held in a file system folder. It provides a widely available, simple and scalable geodatabase solution that works across operating systems, scales up to handle very large datasets, and uses an efficient data structure that is optimized for perfornance and storage.
