CompassTools Inc. Receives Expanded AutoDesk Sales Territory; Hires New Sales Manager

CompassTools Inc., a provider of GIS software, GeoSpatial solutions and field data collection tools, is pleased to announce a doubling of its the U.S. sales territory in which it is certified to sell AutoDesk GeoSpatial Products such as AutoCAD® Map 3D, AutoCAD® Civil 3D®, AutoCAD Raster Design and AutoDesk MapGuide®. To manage the new sales territory, CompassTools welcomes Bill Porter, an experienced GIS professional, who will help staff the CompassTools software sales division in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

As a GeoSpatial reseller for more than 14 years, CompassTools trains on a full line of field data collection equipment and software from companies that include Trimble, AutoDesk, ESRI, and Laser Technology. This expanded sales region now includes Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and portions of Iowa, Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

Porter comes to CompassTools with more than 20 years of experience in software development, internet applications, engineering mapping, aerial photogrammetry and field data collection methods. Prior to joining CompassTools, Porter has worked for IBM, Cray Research, Inc. and mapping related concerns. Porter's GIS and cartographic education is from the University of Minnesota.
